Volunteering on a Habitat build site is a fun and exciting hands-on opportunity for individuals of all skill levels! There is no construction experience required and Habitat provides all of the necessary equipment and materials for a successful day on site. Construction related projects could include carpentry, painting, siding, flooring, finish work, and much more! As a construction volunteer you’ll learn new skills or improve current ones, meet some terrific people, and leave at the end of the day knowing that you’ve helped build a safe, decent, and affordable home for a local family.
Please note the following:
- You MUST be registered for a shift to volunteer on the build site.
- Please cancel reserved shifts if you are no longer able to attend. This will open the slot for someone else who can attend. You can find the link to cancel on the confirmation email you received when you signed up for your shift or contatc Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Passeroni at 41-213-6711 ext. 301 or emily@southcountyhabitat.org.
- Construction will often continue during rain, depending on the stage of construction. If we close the build site due to weather, we will leave a message onthe volunteer hotline.
- What if there is inclement weather on my build day? If for any reason we need to cancel a build we will do our best to notify you via email as soon as possible. We suggest checking your email before heading to the build site so you can learn about any cancellations, location changes or parking instructions. You can also call our Volunteer Hotline at 401.213.6711 x8 or 401.213.3204 for up-to-date closures or location change notices.

Please Note:
* All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate at a construction site. Any volunteer age 16 or 17 must contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Emily, at emily@southcountyhabitat.org to get a youth waiver. We also require one adult chaperon for every five volunteers ages 16 or 17.
