Volunteering on a Habitat build site is a fun and exciting hands-on opportunity for all skill levels! No experience is required and Habitat provides all necessary equipment and materials for a safe and successful day on site. Construction projects may include carpentry, painting, siding, flooring, finish work, and much more! As a construction volunteer you will learn new skills, meet terrific people, and leave at the end of the day knowing that you’ve helped build a safe, decent, and affordable home for a local family.
Please note the following:
- You MUST be registered for a shift to volunteer on the build site.
- All volunteers must be 16 or older to volunteer at a construction site. Volunteers age 16 or 17 requires an adult chaperone and must contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Emily, at emily@southcountyhabitat.org prior to registering for a build.
- If you are unable to attend a shift you registered for please let us know! You can cancel using the link provided in your registration confirmation email, or contact Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Passeroni at 401-213-6711 ext. 301 or emily@southcountyhabitat.org.
- If for any reason we need to cancel or relocate a build we will do our best to notify you via email as soon as possible. We suggest checking your email before heading to the build site so you can learn about any cancellations, location changes or parking instructions. You can also call our Volunteer Hotline at 401-213-3204 for up-to-date closures or location change notices.
- Please be sure to bring a lunch and reusable water bottle! We provide light snacks, water, and coffee.
